- Why use email address? This will also be your account name. You will use this email address to sign on to your
website to administer your cookbook or to add/edit recipes. You will also use it to view recipes if your cookbook is
made private. You will also recieve Administrator notifications to this email address. It's probably easier for you
to remember your email address than some random name you make up, and it's (much) less likely to conflict with someone
else's username. Don't worry, your email address won't be shown to other users.
- What is a password? This is the password you will use to sign on to your website to add recipes, view recipes,
and print a complete cookbook. It's best if you choose a password you can remember but that is difficult for others
to guess.
- How is cookbook name used? This is the name of your cookbook. It will be printed on your cookbook cover and
will be used in conjunction with the cookbook code to allow people to join your cookbook.
- What is a cookbook code? It is the password that your invited guest will use to join and add recipes to
your cookbook. Once entered, they will not have to join again if they log on to the site with their email
address and password.
- What is "public status"? Public cookbooks, with 10 or more recipes, can be seen by all visitors,
cookbooktree members and non-members, to the site. No one can add or edit recipes on your cookbook
unless have been asked to join by you.
- What is "allow printing"? If checked "YES", cookbooktree members will be able to print cookbooks
and recipes.
- What is "copies for sale"? If marked "YES", your cookbook will be available to be added to a
shopping cart for sale.
- What is the "How much would you like to make" field? This is the amount of money cookbooktree
will send you for the sale of each cookbook ordered on the cookbooktree site. The cookbook must
be available for sale in order for this selection to be active.
- What is "Foreword"? This page is added after the front page. It allows you to explain
anything you want about your cookbook.
- What is a category? Categories are used to divide your cookbook into sections for
easier searching.
- What is "choose a cover"? This allows you to choose a pre-made cover for your
cookbook. Your cookbook name will be added to the cover for printing.
- How do I sign up with cookbooktree.com? Go to www.cookbooktree.com and select
"sign up" at the bottom in member log in box. Fill in appropriate fields.
- How do I log in? Go to the home page www.cookbooktree.com and log in by using
your email address and password previously chosen.
- How do I join a cookbook in order to add recipes? Go to join cookbook tab at
the top. Enter name of cookbook and cookbook code. The cookbook code must be
given to you by the cookbook's editor (cookbooktree member who created the
cookbook).
- How do I add recipes? Once you have joined a cookbook you can select "add
recipes" to enter new recipes or you can go to any other cookbook that you are a
member of and select add recipe beside cookbook name tab.
- How do I print a cookbook? Select the cookbook that you would like to
print. If it is available for printing you can select "print cookbook". Then
select whether to print the cookbook, the cover, or both. It will download to
a PDF file. We recommend Adobe 8 version software be installed on your
computer.
- How do I purchase a cookbook? Select the cookbook you would like to
purchase. If it is for sale, "add to cart" can be selected next to cookbook
name tab. Follow instructions and place your order.
- How do I edit my cookbook? Only the cookbook creator or editor can
edit the setup of a cookbook. Select Edit cookbook next to the cookbook
name tab and then select what you would like to edit. Make changes and
save changes.
- Why do I have to type in my email address? This will also be your
account name. You will use this email address to sign into
Cookbooktree.com. It will allow you join cookbooks and edit your own
recipes and cookbooks. Cookbook tree will also use this address to
contact you if needed.
- What do I have to type in a password? This is the password you
will use to sign into Cookbootree.com. It along with your email
address will allow you to join cookbooks, create cookbooks, add and
edit recipes and view your private cookbooks.
- Why does my cookbook not show up when I set it as public?
Cookbooks must have at least 10 recipes in them to show up as a
public cookbook.
